The meeting was shared and reported by Dr. Yi Li of Business School, Central South University. Peter Herrmann (Professor of Central South University Human Rights Centre, China), Mehmet Okyayuz (Professor of Middle East Technical University, <a>Ankara\/Turkey<\/a>), <a>Peter Szynka<\/a> (Interim Professor of the University for Applied Sciences of Hannover, Germany), Juan Li (Associate Professor of Central South University Human Rights Centre, China), Theophilus Edwin Coleman (Postdoctoral researcher of University of Johannesburg, South Africa), Bet\u00fcl G\u00f6khan (Research assistant of <a>Middle East Technical University, Ankara\/Turkey<\/a>), and Zeynep Deniz \u015een, (PhD student of Middle East Technical University, Ankara\/Turkey), participated and discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Yi Li noted that recent research has shown that non-disclosure can potentially improve stock price informativeness by encouraging investors to acquire and produce information. A study on whether, in the absence of disclosure, investors can privately acquire information on firms\u2019 political connections found that, on average, investors are not aware that the firms in which they have invested are connected to the investigated officials, suggesting a lack of visibility of the connections. However, a small number of institutional investors know about the connections and sell their shares in response to the investigations. It is clear from both interviews and archival-based analyses that high information acquisition costs and analysts\u2019 lack of incentives to disseminate sensitive information they acquire contribute to this lack of visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, Dr Li Yi argues that the study contributes to the debate on mandating disclosure of political connections by highlighting the importance of investors\u2019 ability to privately acquire relevant information on political connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2023\u5e745\u670825\u65e5\uff0cHRUG\u5b9a\u671f\u7814\u8ba8\u4f1a\u4e4b\u201c\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u7684\uff08\u4e0d\uff09\u53ef\u89c1\u6027\u201d\u4e3b\u9898\u4f1a\u8bae\u987a\u5229\u53ec\u5f00\u3002\u672c\u6b21\u8ba8\u8bba\u7531\u4e2d\u5357\u5927\u5b66\u5546\u5b66\u9662\u674e\u794e\u535a\u58eb\u8fdb\u884c\u5206\u4eab\u6c47\u62a5\uff0c\u4e2d\u5357\u5927\u5b66\u4eba\u6743\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7814\u7a76\u5458Peter Herrmann\u6559\u6388\u3001\u571f\u8033\u5176\u4e2d\u4e1c\u79d1\u6280\u5927\u5b66\u653f\u6cbb\u5b66Mehmet Okyayuz\u6559\u6388\u3001\u5fb7\u56fd\u6c49\u8bfa\u5a01\u5e94\u7528\u79d1\u6280\u5927\u5b66Peter Szynka\u6559\u6388\u3001\u4e2d\u5357\u5927\u5b66\u4eba\u6743\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7814\u7a76\u5458\u9ece\u5a1f\u526f\u6559\u6388\u3001\u5357\u975e\u7ea6\u7ff0\u5185\u65af\u5821\u5927\u5b66\u535a\u58eb\u540e\u7814\u7a76\u5458Theophilus Edwin Coleman\u3001\u571f\u8033\u5176\u4e2d\u4e1c\u79d1\u6280\u5927\u5b66\u7814\u7a76\u52a9\u7406Bet\u00fcl G\u00f6khan\u548c\u571f\u8033\u5176\u4e2d\u4e1c\u79d1\u6280\u5927\u5b66\u535a\u58eb\u751fZeynep Deniz \u015een\u53c2\u52a0\u5e76\u8fdb\u884c\u8ba8\u8bba\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u674e\u794e\u535a\u58eb\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u6700\u8fd1\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u8868\u660e\uff0c\u4e0d\u62ab\u9732\u53ef\u4ee5\u901a\u8fc7\u9f13\u52b1\u6295\u8d44\u8005\u83b7\u53d6\u548c\u751f\u4ea7\u4fe1\u606f\uff0c\u6f5c\u5728\u5730\u63d0\u9ad8\u80a1\u4ef7\u4fe1\u606f\u542b\u91cf\u3002\u5bf9\u201c\u5728\u6ca1\u6709\u62ab\u9732\u4fe1\u606f\u7684\u60c5\u51b5\u4e0b\u6295\u8d44\u8005\u662f\u5426\u53ef\u4ee5\u79c1\u4e0b\u83b7\u53d6\u6709\u5173\u516c\u53f8\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u7684\u4fe1\u606f\u201d\u8fdb\u884c\u7814\u7a76\uff0c\u7ed3\u679c\u8868\u660e\uff0c\u5e73\u5747\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u5728\u53cd\u8150\u8d25\u8c03\u67e5\u7684\u80cc\u666f\u4e0b\uff0c\u6295\u8d44\u8005\u5e76\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u4ed6\u4eec\u6240\u6295\u8d44\u7684\u516c\u53f8\u4e0e\u88ab\u8c03\u67e5\u7684\u5b98\u5458\u5b58\u5728\u5173\u8054\u3002\u7531\u6b64\u53ef\u89c1\uff0c\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u7f3a\u4e4f\u53ef\u89c1\u6027\u3002\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u53ea\u6709\u5c11\u6570\u6295\u8d44\u673a\u6784\u7684\u6295\u8d44\u8005\u77e5\u9053\u8fd9\u79cd\u5173\u8054\uff0c\u5e76\u5728\u8c03\u67e5\u540e\u629b\u552e\u80a1\u7968\u3002\u901a\u8fc7\u8bbf\u8c08\u548c\u5bf9\u65e2\u6709\u6587\u732e\u7684\u5206\u6790\u53ef\u77e5\uff0c\u9ad8\u6602\u7684\u4fe1\u606f\u83b7\u53d6\u6210\u672c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5206\u6790\u5e08\u7f3a\u4e4f\u83b7\u53d6\u654f\u611f\u4fe1\u606f\u7684\u80fd\u529b\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u9020\u6210\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u7f3a\u4e4f\u53ef\u89c1\u6027\u7684\u539f\u56e0\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u6700\u540e\uff0c\u674e\u794e\u535a\u58eb\u8ba4\u4e3a\u7814\u7a76\u901a\u8fc7\u5f3a\u8c03\u6295\u8d44\u8005\u83b7\u53d6\u516c\u53f8\u7684\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u76f8\u5173\u4fe1\u606f\u7684\u80fd\u529b\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u6027\uff0c\u5bf9\u6709\u5173\u5f3a\u5236\u62ab\u9732\u653f\u6cbb\u5173\u8054\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5e26\u6765\u4e86\u4e00\u5b9a\u7684\u79ef\u6781\u5f71\u54cd\u3002<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 25, 2023, the HRUG regular seminar on \u201c(In) Visibility of Political Connections\u201d was successfully held.
