The plan: We are working on a book on Corona Politics and Policies – Challenging Principles of Human Rights. Much had been said about (the breach of) Human Rights during the time of pendemics. The forthcoming volume will be special as it does not look at single rights; instead, the various contributions aim on opening a debate on the principles of human rights today. Somewhere it had been said “Human Rights show their true meaning and validity when confronted with crises”. But it is equally worthwhile to ventilate the question if and to which extent crises – as turning point of global and societal development – require revisiting the very concept of Human Rights.
There will be contributions on China, Gemany, Ireland, South Africa and Turkey.
