Abstract: The working population in Switzerland comprises various categories and strata of workers with differing rights, working conditions, wages, and social benefits. Significant differences exist between workers with Swiss citizenship and those without, as well as between individuals with different residence and work permits. These differences are exploited to serve economic interests.
Short Bio: Natalie Benelli holds a doctorate in social sciences from the University of Lausanne. She has spent extended periods of time in Italy and the United States as part of her academic research. In 2022, Natalie Benelli founded the independent, all-volunteer and community-based press organization Neue Presse (New Press) in Switzerland. She is the editor-in-chief of Neue Presse’s magazine Der Neue Norden (The New North) which is published in German.
